Laura Peterson

15 years ago I moved to NYC, I started graduate school, and worked part-time. I needed an activity that would help me manage my stress, my mind, and my body. I discovered yoga. Yoga was an opportunity to connect to myself and my breath. I practiced yoga while also teaching third grade in the public school system. I graduated from Laughing Lotus with my 200-hour vinyasa instructor license. I gave birth to my daughter and started working at a local yoga studio in Brooklyn called Jaya Yoga Center. I worked as an administrator and also taught early morning classes. Two years later, after the birth of my second child, I received my yoga license to teach prenatal yoga, as well as my license to teach children. I have since moved back to Wisconsin with my family. I currently work full-time as an elementary school teacher. I am so excited and feel very fortunate to have this opportunity to continue teaching yoga to people in my community.
