The word yoga is often interpreted as “union” or a method of discipline. The Indian sage Patanjali is believed to have collated the practice of yoga into a collection of 195 statements that is known as the Yoga Sutras. Most people practicing yoga today are engaged in asana (poses), one of the 8 limbs of yoga, which is a program of physical postures designed to purify the body and provide the physical strength and stamina required for long periods of meditation.

With regular practice, you will notice your body getting stronger and more flexible; you will feel more grounded and have better posture. On a mental level you will notice improved focus, the ability to stay calm and maintain relaxed breathing. You will rid yourself of stress and anxiety and will be more prepared to handle events in your life that trigger you into different emotional state

It is a misunderstanding that you have to be flexible or strong to do yoga. We work on many levels including the body, the breath, the mind and the spirit in every class. You will find yourself becoming more flexible and strong as you continue to practice yoga

It is a good idea to try different classes to get an idea of the style of yoga and teachers you like and is right for you. Vinyasa & Hot Flow classes tend to be the more physically demanding classes, while Hatha Yoga, Gentle Yoga, Yin Yoga and the Restorative Yoga classes are less physically challenging.

Bring water to stay hydrated, a yoga mat and a towel. We have mats available for use if you do not have one.

We recommend wearing comfortable and breathable clothing that allows for a full range of movement.

It is a good idea to come to class hydrated and drink plenty of water after yoga class. In most yoga traditions drinking water during class is not recommended. Try not to eat a full meal at least four hours before class.

It is always appropriate to talk to the instructor about any existing physical conditions and concerns you have about them. Yoga benefits many people with chronic pain by helping the body regain its balance between strength and flexibility, movement and awareness. If you are under a doctor’s care for an acute situation, please be sure to discuss taking yoga classes with him or her.

Certainly! You can pause your membership for up to 3 months. Just send an email to info@yogaonestudio.com to make the arrangements.

We understand that circumstances change. If you need to cancel your membership, please email info@yogaonestudio.com at least 7 days before your next billing date. Remember, you're always welcome back to your mat whenever you're ready.

Yes, children aged 13 and above are welcome to join yoga classes. We believe that by this age, children have the maturity and focus necessary to fully engage in the practice of yoga, both physically and mentally. This helps ensure that they can follow along safely with the postures and enjoy the calming benefits of the class.
If you have any questions about bringing your child or are interested in family-specific classes, feel free to reach out! We’re happy to discuss the best options for young yogis.

Savasana, or final relaxation, is an essential part of every yoga practice. It allows your body to integrate the physical practice, calms the nervous system, and offers a few quiet moments to rest in stillness. We understand life can be busy, but we encourage all students to stay through Savasana out of respect for yourself, your fellow students, and the teacher. Leaving early disrupts the experience for others and means you're missing one of the most powerful parts of class.
If you absolutely must leave early, please do so before Savasana begins and let your teacher know at the start of class.
